New FXX cable network plans Chozen, an animated series from Danny McBride about a gay white rapper, as its first original project.

*New FX offshoot FXX announced its first original series Thursday — an animated comedy about a gay white rapper who’s newly released from prison and is on a quest for redemption and domination.

“Chozen,” from the creators of “Archer” and “Eastbound & Down,” will feature the voices of Grant Dekernion — who will also write, executive-produce, and rap for the show — as well as Nick Swardson, Danny McBride, Kathryn Hahn, Hannibal Buress, Michael Pena, “Saturday Night Live’s” Bobby Moynihan, and rapper Method Man.

“Chozen is an outrageous and ballsy comedy, but it’s also a very smart examination of the rap culture,” FX president Nick Grad said in a statement.

FXX will launch on Sept. 2, 2013 in 72 million homes. The channel will feature movies and new seasons of original series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “The League,” “Legit” and the late-night show “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.”
