*Paris Jackson continues to recover in a Los Angeles-area hospital after an alleged suicide attempt early Wednesday. Below are the latest developments surrounding Michael Jackson’s 15-year-old daughter.
‘MAJOR FIGHTS’ WITH BROTHER PRINCE MICHAEL
Sources tell Us Weekly that Paris had been battling a “major depression,” and that it was caused, in part, by “major fights” with her brother, Prince Michael.
After many years of estrangement, Paris recently began spending time with their biological mother, Debbie Rowe, and Prince, 16, didn’t approve of the new relationship, the source tells Us.
“[Paris and Prince] were always so insanely close until Debbie came back in the picture, and Paris wanted to get close with her,” the insider explains. “Paris wanted her mom in her life, but Paris was younger and Prince remembers all of the awful things Michael told them about Debbie. Prince feels Paris is betraying their father by getting close to Debbie.”
But Paris, who has been frequently visiting Rowe, 54, at her horse ranch in Palmdale, Calif., wanted to get to know her mother, who was married to their father from 1996 to 1999.
“Paris made her own decision to get to know her mom and found she really liked her,” the source says. Another benefit of their renewed bond? “She loves the stories Debbie has told her about her dad.”
Her big brother, meanwhile, feels betrayed. “He has these massive fights with her and calls Paris a backstabber for getting to know ‘that woman,'” the insider reveals. “Paris and Prince fight all the time, and it really hurts Paris as they used to be close.”
Feud or not, Prince is by his sister’s side while she recovers at an L.A. hospital following her suicide attempt. He canceled a scheduled appearance on German talk show Wetten, dass . . .? (Wanna Bet?). ”
DR. CONRAD MURRAY RECORDS A MESSAGE FOR PARIS
According to TMZ, the man convicted of causing her father’s death in 2009 has recorded a message to let Paris know he’s there for her.
“I don’t know if there is anything I can do to salve your pain or help you with your problem, but I wanted you to know that I am here for you,” Murray said in a message recorded via TMZ from Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles. “I always will be available to listen to you, answer your questions or to share with you the plethora of beautiful and savored untold stories of your father as well as his venerable points of view that he shared with me.”
He went on to say her father loved her very much.
“I, too, love you as a precious father loves his own child, and I always will,” Murray said.
PARIS’ SCHOOL SAYS SHE’S BEEN IN MELTDOWN MODE FOR NEARLY A YEAR
TMZ cites sources connected to her exclusive Buckley School in the San Fernando Valley who say school officials were aware Paris was dealing with a “major family trauma” when the school year began last September. Based on the timeline, it appears the issue involved Katherine Jackson’s mysterious “disappearance” last July.
There were reports Michael Jackson’s siblings were holding Katherine as part of a money grab — something they deny. Paris confronted several of the siblings in a heated argument outside the family’s Calabasas home.
Sources connected with Buckley tell TMZ … when Paris came back to school in September, her grades started dropping and, as one source said, “she stopped caring.”
A school official told one of TMZ’s sources … what really sent Paris over the edge was when she got an offer to do a movie but certain family members went on an all-out campaign to block it. The source says a school official said, at that point “Paris broke down.”
There have been reports Paris was bullied at Buckley and that’s what caused her downward spiral. However, TMZ cites a top school official who is adamant that Paris was not bullied and she made the claims to get attention.
THE PRODUCER OF PARIS’ FILM DEBUT STICKS WITH HER.
Paris has expressed an interest in acting, and is signed on to star in “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys,” an adaptation of a young-adult fantasy novel. The book’s author – also among the film’s producers – says Paris’ involvement is unchanged.
“It’s the first signs of trouble, and we don’t want to be the kinds of producers that say, ‘OK, you’re out.’ We want to back her,” Dennis Christen told The Daily Beast. “She is right now our girl.”
