*Everyone expected there to be rioting and unruly behavior after the not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial, but African Americans and/or supporters of the Martin family used their heads, organized, and took the legal system to task.

But the U.S. Open of Surfing that is a meeting and competition of the “dudes” of the surf world concluded in a different manner.

The Huntington Beach locals are used to the unruly nature of the surfing community (i.e. public urination, littering, drinking in cars, etc.) during the U.S. Open, but this year’s event ended in rioting and fighting uncharacteristic of the usual crowd, according to the Los Angeles Times.
