*Gabrielle Union was brutally honest in an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine recently, discussing the reality of acting.
The primarily big screen actress, who in January, will star in her first television show on BET, “Being Mary Jane.”
While it is many film actors’ dreams to transition to television at some point in their careers, Gabrielle isn’t going to lie, it’s all about following the money.
“It’s called mortgages that need to be paid and opportunity and people wanting to see us,” said Gabrielle who fans can still see in theaters. The actress will also appear in the sequel to the Steve Harvey hit “Think Like a Man.”
But she’s not alone. Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington, and Meagan Good have all made it to the small screen as stars of a show. It’s an awesome time to be a black female actress.
“Thank God for television giving so many people the opportunity to be the queens of our castle,” she said.
