BAM - Truth Serum featuring India Arie*Summer in Brooklyn has never been more exciting. On August 29 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), India.Arie is taking the stage along with the industry’s finest new artists.

This performance will blow you out of the water because India is set to perform with The Brooklyn Philharmonic.

Her latest album “SongVersation,” though hit with a few bits of controversy (the cover photo) received rave reviews. “SongVersation” is a snapshot of her hard-won breakthrough to simultaneous personal and artistic growth, after processing and resolving the old, to make room for the new. With its spare instrumentation, honest and engaging lyrics framed by melodic R&B, the album finds the artist coming back full circle to the basics that captivated her fans on debut album “Acoustic Soul.”

Additional artists featured for this highly anticipated event include Talib Kweli, one of the greatest hip hop poets of our generation, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Luke James and hot, emerging stars Milwakee born Esnavi, best known for her soulful and electrifying style, along with Rapsody a much talked about force of Hip Hop.

Tickets for the “The Truth Serum” are on sale now and can be purchased online by visiting www.BAM.org or at the BAM Box Office located at 30 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn.

“The Truth Serum” celebrates artistic transparency and authenticity. Each artist featured is widely respected and known for diving deep into their souls to provide the total truth in their music, their art and their lives. The event theme is designed to engage the total fan experience, while also showcasing what’s new-and-next in entertainment.

The event is the brainchild of LegendFactory Founder Amanda McIntyre-Chavis, a music industry veteran and musician in her own right, who is on a mission to expand the “fan experience.”

“LegendFactory was created as a platform to build experiences, whether that experience is helping artists perfect their craft so they can share it with their audience, or a brand getting more intimate with its consumer,” Amanda says.

The Truth Serum will take place at BAM, August 29 at 8 p.m.
