*A premiere date has yet to be announced, but production on the 12-episode second season of BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood” is already in the can, according to cast member JB Smoove.

“You are gonna love the new season,” he told EURweb exclusively at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills on Monday. “The show did so well that everyone wants to be on it now.”

That includes talk show host Katie Couric, who joins Bobby Brown, Chris Rock and Anthony Anderson among the guests appearing in season 2.

“When you start getting guests like Katie Couric to do the show, that just shows you that the show’s crossing over,” said Smoove. “A lot of times we have the reverse crossover. The majority of the time it’s a black actor crossing over to a white show. But this time we’re pulling in a pretty well-balanced audience, which is really cool.”

Smoove returns with series creator Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin and Nelly. The mock reality series follows their lives as husbands of celebrity wives (or in Nelly’s case, girlfriend). Robin Thicke bowed out for season two.

“I think people are going to get a chance this season to see more of the inside of what goes through our minds and our heads, and how we think; how vindictive we are and how petty we are,” added Smoove.

(L-R) Actors Beau Bridges, Will Arnett, Margo Martindale and JB Smoove speak onstage during “The Millers” panel discussion at the CBS, Showtime and The CW portion of the 2013 Summer Television Critics Association tour at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on July 29, 2013 in Beverly Hills

The 46-year-old North Carolina native was at the TCA to promote his role in the new CBS comedy “The Millers,” where he is the only person of color in a cast that includes Beau Bridges, Will Arnett, and Margo Martindale. He also reteams with his “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-star Larry David for the upcoming HBO film “Clear History,” premiering Aug. 10 at 10 p.m.

In fact, Smoove’s Larry David connection has been a running joke among the real husbands, with Hart and company reminding him he is only hot among white people.
