*Good news for financially challenged quarterback Vince Young. His pro career just might not be over.
According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback will work out for the Green Bay Packers. Young’s last job in the NFL was with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011.
The situation came about because the Packers’ backup QB job is still up in the air. Basically, Graham Harrell and B.J. Coleman have split reps in training camp, giving Young some hope to potentially back up Aaron Rodgers.
As we reported, Young has been ordered by a judge to auction off most of what’s left of his possessions in order to pay back debts he racked up while living large.
*In other sports related news, the uncle of murder suspect and former NFL star Aaron Hernandez was killed in a moped crash in Connecticut.
Bristol police identified the victim of the early Saturday morning crash as Robert Valentine of Bristol.
In an interview with The Boston Globe, Patrick Valentine said he and Robert Valentine are the brothers of Terri Hernandez, Aaron Hernandez’s mother.
It was the second recent fatal accident involving a Hernandez relative. Thaddeus Singleton III of Bristol was killed when the car he was driving slammed into a country club building on June 30. He was married to Hernandez’s cousin.
The former New England Patriots tight end has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 about a mile from Hernandez’s home in North Attleborough, Mass.
