The 24-year-old is no stranger to trouble. During his rookie season in 2008, Beasley and a few other ballplayers were implicated in a situation involving marijuana.
At that time police were called to a hotel room after a fire alarm went off and reported the space smelled of Marijuana. There were no drugs found and so no charges were filed. Beasley was fined $50,000 by his then (Miami Heat) coach Pat Riley for allegedly being in the room during the incident and later confessed to Riley that he had in fact snuck out and let the other players take the wrap.
A year later, after he posted a picture on Twitter of himself with what looked like baggies of marijuana, Beasley checked himself into rehab.
TheNBA ballerr was also pulled over in 2011 for speeding. Officers said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car’s cabin. They allegedly found a bag of weed under Beasley’s seat during their search. Although Beasley claimed it didn’t belong to him, he was fined and ticketed anyway.
Beasley, who has an $18 million, three-year contract with the Suns, is involved in his fourth marijuana-related offense as police discovered the drug in the driver’s area of the vehicle.
Beasley was released from custody and is expected to appear in court at a future date for a hearing.
