Barack obama and jay leno*Yippeee! The president’s coming to Burbank, California!

Oh wait. Note to self: Take public transportation on that day because traffic’s gonna be a mutha.

Barack Obama will pay his 6th visit to “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on August 6. The first time Obama sat in the chair as a guest of the late night show host, Jay Leno, was prior to his election in March 2009. That pre-election visit gave the show of the now departing Leno a huge ratings boost by the way! Now with this visit, he has become the first sitting president to appear on the show.

According to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney today, the President will be giving an economic policy speech near Phoenix earlier on the day of the 6th before taping with Leno in Burbank.

While details on the rest of Obama’s schedule are sketchy, he will be staying in the area after hisTonight Show appearance. Obama is set to head to Camp Pendleton on the 7th for a visit with the Marines based there.
