datari turner*Producer Datari Turner is all smiles about one of a few upcoming films on his slate, “Lap Dance.”

The first clip posted from the film this past spring was met with mostly negative responses, so Turner felt the need to address any concerns.

“I think people would agree that I have pretty good taste and a strong track record in recent years with the indie films I’ve chosen to make. I believe “Lap Dance” is the greatest film ever made about the life of a stripper. People will be very entertained and pleasantly surprised.”

“Lap Dance” revolves around Monica, played by Ali Cobrin, an aspiring actress who “makes a pact with her fiance to take a job as an exotic dancer to care for her cancer-stricken father.”

The film is directed by Gregory Carter and was screened this summer at the American Black Film Festival in Miami.

The film’s ensemble cast list includes: Mariel Hemingway, James Remar, Lynn Whitfield, Omari Hardwick, Carmen Electra, Lisa Raye, Robert Hoffman, Briana Evigan, Nia Peoples, Datari Turner, Omar Gooding, Keith Robinson, Lew Temple, Stacey Dash, Obba Babatunde, Quinton Aaron, K.D. Aubert, Christian Keyes, Wesley Jonathan, Terrell “T.O.” Owens, Ron Jeremy, and Dennis White.
