*Two gunmen held up hip-hop producer Scott Storch in Times Square on Tuesday — taking over $100,000 in jewelry as well as a briefcase containing nearly $5,000 in cash, police sources tell TMZ.
Storch — who has worked with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Beyonce and 50 Cent — is in town for the MTV Video Music Awards. He had just left the New York Palace Hotel on Madison Ave. at around 7 a.m., and was sitting inside of an SUV on W. 46th St. near Eighth Ave when he was approached by two men with guns who said, “Give us all your jewelry and cash or you’re dead.”
Police sources say the perpetrators ordered Storch, 39, to hand over his jewelry and briefcase, and also demanded the driver of the SUV give up the keys to the ride so they couldn’t drive away … and the driver complied.
The thieves fled in a black SUV idling nearby, sources said. No one was harmed.
Storch began his hip-hop career as a keyboardist for The Roots. He developed a cocaine addiction and revealed in 2009 that he had squandered $30 million in just three years — most of it going to drugs.
He was arrested in Las Vegas in 2012 for cocaine possession.
