shaunie o'neal *The hit reality show “Basketball Wives” has experienced quite a few roster changes since it premiered in 2010.

Executive producer and cast mate Shaunie O’Neal said that losing some cast members has been easier than others.

When season 5 kicks premieres Monday, August 19, it will be without original cast members Jennifer Williams and Royce Reed.

Some viewers might remember that Royce experienced difficulty shooting season 4 when a number of cast maters refused to shoot scenes with her.

“Some of the exits were necessary, just because it wasn’t clicking anymore. It’s hard to continue filming with people that you just have nothing else to talk about or nothing in common with, or that relationship has withered away,” Shaunie explained to “Sister 2 Sister” without naming names.

While Royce the cast member was often seen doing her own thing outside of the group, Jennifer was definitely one of the girls “in the circle.”

Royce was the cast member doing her own thing as a former NBA dancer, women of whom most “wives” are not fond, but Jennifer was definitely “in the circle.”

“You have other people that situations made it bad and situations made your friendship different…[things] that are out of your control. I hate to see those moments happen,” she said. “That’s not a great way to see somebody go. I wish some people could have stayed and made it work.”

The new season will not include newcomers Kenya Bell and Kesha Nichols who we just met during season 4. So with all the change ups the only familiar faces we will see will be the three original cast members Suzie Ketcham, Evelyn Lozada and Shaunie. Tami Roman, who first signed on for season 2 of the show, will also be back.

Unlike many of the women signed on after the first season, Tami is still hanging in there.

“Well, Tami’s personality is …it’s incredible. You love her, hate her, whatever. You can’t live without some part of Tami on ‘Basketball Wives,’” said Shaunie. “She just brings so much to the show…There’s still something about her that drives you to watching.”

We will all just have to watch to see how season 5 newcomer Tasha Marbury will do amongst the circle. Shaunie said the “true diva” didn’t have the smoothest entry on the show.
