Cedric The Entertainer wants to make you a millionaire as the new host of ABC’s ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire,’ premiers September 2, 2013
*On September 2, 2013 the new season of ABC’s “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” premiers in syndication with funny man Cedric The Entertainer as its new host. This is the 12th season for the game show where viewers can and have walked away with a million dollars.
“Steve Harvey has taken ‘The Family Freud’…I had the opportunity to host ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire,’” comedian/actor Cedric The Entertainer said about his new job at ABC as host of the long running game show. “Others have done it…Wayne Brady…they all have motivated me.”
Cedric is executive producer of the hit comedy series “The Soul Man,” in its third season at TV Land, starring comedienne/actress Niecy Nash. On “Who Wants to be a Millionaire,” as its host, Cedric said he will focus on keeping the energy high. I am sure, with Cedric as the host, contestants will laugh their way through as they try to win a millionaire dollars by guessing the correct answer to trivia questions. How the funny man delivers those questions will undoubtedly be a comedy show of its own.
Adding to how he plans to host Cedric said he just wants to, “have fun and keep the show energetic.”
The game is divided into two rounds. The first has 10 trivia questions with each correct answer giving a monetary reward that ranges from $100 to $25,000. The second round has four questions with correct answered valued at $100,000, $250,000, $500,000 and one million. The questions get harder as the value increases.
“I have been writing questions in a comedic style since I took over,” said executive producer Rich Sirop about the skills Cedric The Entertainer will bring to the show as host. “Cedric is going to play well with the material. One of the things that’s exciting about Cedric is he is so relatable, funny and the best part is he’s a (television) producer. He’s a producer that’s going to make the show better.”
“People walk away with a million dollars,” Cedric reminded us.
Phil Heath tries for win three at Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas September 27-28, 2013, releases Generation Iron documentary September 20th
*“I’m in a very privilege position,” said Phil Heath, who was once a college basketball player (University of Denver), about his major achievements in the body building world as the winner of two Mr. Olympia strongman titles. “I feel that it’s a dream come true.”
Phil, known as “The Gift”, will compete against the world’s top contenders in Las Vegas at Mr. Olympia September 27-28, 2013. Body building is a sport that was given the Hollywood spotlight in a 1977 documentary titled “Pumping Iron” – which made Arnold Schwarzenegger a household name.
Phil Heath is the star of a new body building documentary titled Generation Iron which arrives in theaters September 20th. The documentary has appearances by Lou Ferigno, Mickey Rourke and Schwarzenegger, and it will show Heath winning the title from four-time winner Jay Cutler in 2011 and his second win struggles in 2012.
“I believe being a professional body builder is good character building…organization, competence, intelligence, willingness to learn and it drives you to be the best you can be. It teaches you how to manage your health…it teaches you to never give up.”
The Gift has appeared on more than nine covers of award winning “Flex” magazine, as well as on the covers of “Muscle Development” and “Iron Man.”
“Yes, I diffidently feel like I’m going to get #3,” Phil confidently stated to me when asked. “It’s difficult. My job is to make it hard for the competition.”
Heath said he is now a member of only 13 Mr. Olympians in the world and he takes his responsibilities as a holder of that title very seriously.
