*Mink capes and assorted Michael Jackson memorabilia once belonging to Jesse Jackson Jr. are about to go to the highest bidder.

The 48-year-old former congressman was sentenced to 2½ years in prison last month for spending campaign money on personal items – among them, expensive furs, and a guitar signed by the King of Pop and Eddie Van Halen.

Bidding begins today in an online auction of the ill-gotten gains. Proceeds will be used to help repay $750,000 in campaign funds that the Chicago Democrat illegally spent.

The son of civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson was also ordered to repay $750,000 in campaign cash.

The items are being sold by the U.S. Marshals Service, although it isn’t clear how much money the auction will raise.
