But Arizona’s safety Rashad Johnson suffered an additional loss when the tip of his middle finger came off while making a tackle.
During a punt return, Johnson tackled Saints player Darren Sproles and after the play was over, Johnson noticed a pain in his hand.
When he removed his glove, he saw the tip of his middle finger was gone. By gone, we mean the finger tip was separated from the rest of the finger at the knuckle. But Johnson was able to pull himself together in time to wrap his hand and finish the rest of the game.
Johnson had emergency surgery immediately after the game; which involved having his finger bone shaven down amongst other repairs.
After his finger fully heals, Johnson will be able to return to the field.
