*Dwayne Johnson has just closed a deal to star in the forthcoming earthquake disaster movie, “San Andreas.”
The former wrestler will play a rescue helicopter pilot attempting to keep his estranged daughter from harm during a California quake, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He would reteam with helmer Brad Peyton, who directed him in “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” for the project, which is set for released in 2015.
Johnson is coming off a banner year in which his appearances in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “Fast & Furious 6” and “Pain & Gain” generated more than $1.1 billion at the global box office.
He is currently filming “Fast & Furious 7” after recently completing the shoot for “Hercules: The Thracian Wars,” directed by Brett Ratner.
