According to Billboard, the man formerly known as Slim Shady is slated for an Australian tour and his first-ever show in New Zealand — and he’s inviting Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Chance the Rapper and Action Bronson to handle the bill with him. The tour, called “Rapture,” boasts four stadium dates in February and according to the promoter, Paul Danity of the Danity Group, is going to be a potential “game-changing hip hop event,” reports Billboard.
“Eminem has generations of fans in New Zealand,” said David Dallas, a New Zealand-based rapper who, along with Aussie rapper 360, will be opening. “He’s never been here, so it’s going to be huge.”
Em’s year is going well. Marshall Mathers LP 2 is slated for release Nov. 5 and the collection’s lead single, “Berzerk,” a Beastie Boys-sounding, Rick Rubin-produced banger, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Lamar, Em’s Aftermath label mate, is currently blazing stages and killing live shows across the country with Kanye West; promoting his platinum-selling major label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d. city.
Cole is promoting his Born Sinner release, recently extending his U.K. tour (kicking off in November) due to popular demand.
The three will assemble for the first date of Rapture, Feb. 15.
