“I feel like a lot of players don’t have wives, so that just excludes them,” Malaysia told HipHollywood.com. “I feel like in actuality, in the NBA, there’s wives; there’s girlfriends; there’s babymamas. They’re side chicks.”
Despite all the various labels that women may carry dealing with a star athlete, Malaysia is one of the few on the show actually married to a basketball player. But she does socialize with her co-star Draya Michele, who although she hasn’t been married to an athlete herself, disagreed with Laura as well.
“Basketball Wives: LA” newcomer, Brandi Maxiell, who is married to Jason Maxiell, said, “Everybody’s affiliated in some way to the show. So, I think it’s good.”
Both Laura and her sister Gloria are not returning to “BBW: LA” but have been promising to bring a more realistic depiction of being with a basketball star on their own reality show.
