*Thanks to years of outstanding leadership in the industry, Oprah Winfrey will receive the Hollywood Reporter’s “Sherry Lansing Leadership Award.”
The ceremony will take place on December 11th this year during the 22nd Annual Women in Entertainment Breakfast at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Oprah will have her award presented by Maria Shriver.
“Oprah is an inspiration to us all,” said HR’s editorial director Janice Min. “She has wielded her tremendous influence to empower women both here in Hollywood and around the world and motivated countless individuals to contribute to causes that better their communities. She is the embodiment of this award.”
*It seems that rapper-singer-songwriter Drake can’t lose these days and is proving that with the release of his third album “Nothing Was the Same.”
The new project landed Drake in the top spot on this week’s Billboard charts and is receiving quite the buzz within the industry.
He was able to move 658,000 units in his first week. This mark’s the largest single week sales in 2013 right behind Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience,” which sold a little under a million in a week.
