*Actress-activist Sheryl Lee Ralph’s DIVA Foundation kicks off its 23rd Annual HIV/AIDS benefit concert “DIVAS Simply Singing!”
We can expect to see a star studded ensemble gather for the concert including Grammy winners, Grammy nominees, Reality Stars, and a South African Goddess.
The DIVA spotlight will be on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘Glee’ actress Amber Riley, ‘Baggage Claim’ cast member Jenifer Lewis, ‘R&B DIVAS’ Faith Evans as well as Kelly Price, Martha Wash, Karyn White, gospel powerhouse Karen Clark Sheard and Kierra Sheard (BET’s ‘The Sheards’), Carolyn Malachi, Sheléa, and Simphiwe Dan from South Africa.
There will be a few men in the house to pay tribute to the ladies including Grammy nominated male vocalists VaShawn Mitchell and B Slade, formerly Tonex.
Presenters of the evening will include Comedian Luenell, Elise Neal, First Lady Togetta Ulmer and Andra Fuller just to name a few; with participants lending their voice in the fight to end HIV/AIDS.
A host of other celebrities will be joining this year’s event as presenters. The participants are uniting their voices in song to raise awareness to end HIV/AIDS.

Created and produced by Ralph, DIVAS Simply Singing! is an annual benefit concert, produced in conjunction with The DIVA Foundation to raise money to support HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and testing programs. DIVAS Simply Singing! is the longest consecutive running musical AIDS benefit concert in the country, raising awareness and erasing stigma, one song at a time. This evening of song and entertainment spotlights the talents of D.I.V.A. (acronym for Divinely Inspired, Victoriously Aware) individuals from all walks of the entertainment industry.
The 23rd Annual DIVAS Simply Singing! will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Club Nokia L.A. LIVE near Staples Center. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and doors open 6:30 p.m. Tickets prices range from $55 – $85. About DIVAS Simply Singing
With a unique blend of song, entertainment and empowerment, this oft-praised and highly-anticipated event continues to attract some of the most talented women in show business, uniting in song against HIV/AIDS. Talents such as Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, Oleta Addams, Melissa Manchester, Dianne Reeves, Roberta Flack, Eartha Kitt, Stephanie Mills, Fergie, Raven, Loretta Devine, Jennifer Holiday, Miss Nancy Wilson and many others have raised their voices in song and support of DIVAS Simply Singing!
In the past, proceeds from the concert have benefited organizations such as AIDS Healthcare, Project Angel Food, Caring for Babies with AIDS, Minority AIDS Project, the Safe Place for Pediatric AIDS, the National Minority AIDS Council, the Black AIDS Institute, Women Alive and the Mphilone Project in South Africa.
