Actor Ernie Hudson gets his signed copy of ‘Stunts – The How To Handbook’ from author/stuntwoman Angela Meryl.

*It’s hard to believe that the beautiful and athletic Angela Meryl has been in the movie business for 17 years – and a stuntwoman, too!

Most recently, we’ve seen her doubling for the wife of LL Cool J’s character (Sam Hanna) on NCIS: Los Angeles where she was pushed out of a building and left dangling at 33 stories (see clip at YouTube ).

Angela has doubled for some big screen favorites including Vivica A. Fox (“Kill Bill 1”), Beyoncé Knowles (“Obsessed”), Christina Milian (“Love Don’t Cost a Thing”), Gabrielle Union (“Cradle to the Grave”), Vanessa Williams (“Johnson Family Vacation”), Halle Berry (“Their Eyes Were Watching God”), Tisha Campbell (“My Wife and Kids”) and worked in many Hollywood blockbusters and popular television shows.

The road to becoming a stunt performer is both challenging and virtually uncharted. That is, until Angela decided to reach back and help other aspiring “doubles” by sharing her path in her new book, “STUNTS: The How To Handbook…Secrets From An Award Winning Hollywood Stuntwoman.”

She shares her hard knocks so that others can avoid many of the pitfalls. She reveals what works – and what doesn’t in her book, which is a blueprint with tips on branding, training, job seeking, guerilla marketing and more. It’s a must-have for those interested in taking the next career leap, and an easy read for the rest of us who are merely spectators.

The successful stuntwoman recently addressed a capacity audience of fans, peers and press for a signing at the Samuel French Hollywood Bookshop. It was a lively session where she read from her book, laughed and shared stories with fellow stunt performer LaFaye Baker and actor Ernie Hudson and others who came out to support her.

Angela will be signing books at the Central Avenue Book Festival on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, 12 – 5 p.m. at the African American Firefighter Museum, 1401 Central Ave., L.A., CA 90021. For more info, visit www.CentralAvenueBookFestival.com and www.Angela-Meryl.com.
