Gilbert Davila Chairman of the Association of National Advertisers

*The 2013 ANA Conference convened recently in Los Angeles at the elegant downtown JW Marriott.

The event attracted advertising and marketing executives from major corporations such as McDonalds, Wells Fargo, Amway, Pepsico, Walt Disney, General Mills, Coca Cola, Proctor and Gamble, Diagio-North America, Target, American Express and many more.

The event was populated by 800 attendees who exchanged industry expertise and discussed strategies for businesses to sustain and increase their consumer base given today’s rapidly evolving digital platform.  Very clear directives were passionately communicated for companies to wholeheartedly embrace that fact that the new face of America is a multicultural and multi-ethnic demography.

ANA Multicultural Marketing and Diversity Committee Chairman Gilbert Dávila’s opening remarks noted that the country’s diverse in heritage from the top down, as he alluded to the twice elected President of the United States, Barack Obama.

Gilbert Dávila to EURweb.com: ” Our theme of the conference is marketing to a multicultural nation, and we’re hoping to reflect the fact that America has evolved to become a multicultural society and how corporate America really needs to take a total market approach to insure that all audiences and constituencies are reached in a very relevant and targeted manner.”

These sentiments were also echoed by Diversity Inc. Media CEO Lou Visconti, who delivered a fiery message that any company that does not respect and recognize the trillion dollar spending power of marketing to millenials and multi-ethnic audiences is grossly remiss in their strategies.

Media brands such as Clear Channel, Fox Searchlight, Warner Bros, BET, ESPN, Reach Media, Pandora, Liquid Soul, Mirror Digital, Fox Hispanic Media, American Urban Radio Networks and Telemundo were also present among  at the recent conference.  The ANA also drew celebrity appearances and performances by Steve Harvey, Jonathan Butler, Mary Mary, DL Hughley, Jaci Velasquez, Frankie J. and Bill Santiago.  The Association of National Advertisers’ president is Bob Liodice.  Upcoming events include a Brand Masters Conference,  a Media Leadership Conference, an Advertising Law and Public Policy Conference and much more.  For information on membership, initiatives and other events go to www.ana.net
