TMZ caught up with dude at LAX, and he said that discussions are underway for a return to the Clippers.
Yes, you heard it right. Lamar is apparently drug-free, looking good, and ready to sign a so-called “Veteran’s Contract” with his beloved team.
Of course this means he will only be making a meager $883,000…But whose counting money. At this point, we just want the conversation to change. No more druggie/divorce headlines.
Clippers coach Doc Rivers said Friday’s meeting with Odom, a free agent, went well. He added that he’s “always had an interest in (Odom)” and that he “just wanted to see him,” according to the LA Times’ Broderick Turner.
“It really was … I just wanted to see him physically and see how he was doing,” Rivers said. “He looked good. He looked great. He looked like his weight was way down and in good shape. But that doesn’t mean a lot.”
In 2012-13 with the Clippers, Odom averaged 4.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in 20 minutes. The team is dry of reserve big man options and adding Odom would sure up one of the Clippers’ few weaknesses.
