*The second season of “R&B Divas LA” will include new divas to make things interesting for returning cast members Chanté Moore, Lil’ Mo, Michel’le and Claudette Ortiz.
TV One has announced that singers Chrisette Michele and Leela James will join the hit show as it begins filming the new season this month on-location in Los Angeles. The network’s SVP of programming and production, D’Angela Proctor, assures that fans will not be disappointed with the newest divas.
“The debut season of ‘R&B Divas LA’ set the tone as a series all about glamour and high-stakes drama,” Proctor stated in a press release. “As we gear up to shoot season two, we anticipate that the addition of two lovely and respected solo artists, Chrisette and Leela, will build upon the impassioned, ever-evolving group dynamic that season one viewers embraced.”
Michele’s “R&B Divas” run comes as the songstress tours in support of her fourth album, “Better,” which was released in June. For James, the show couldn’t come at a better time, in light of the success of her latest single, “Say That.” The Anthony Hamilton-assisted tune is the first single from the singer’s forthcoming album, which is slated for a 2014 release.
The second season of “R&B Divas LA” is set to premiere in the Spring on TV One.
