*George Zimmerman’s new pastime is apparently a profitable one.
According to reports, an original painting done by the former neighborhood watchman has been sold for $100,099.99. (Scroll down to see it.)
Zimmerman listed the original 18 by 24-inch canvas, which showed a waving blue flag adorned with the text “God, One Nation, With Liberty And Justice For All,” on eBay on Dec. 16. In addition, the listing included the following message from Zimmerman:
“First hand painted artwork by me, George Zimmerman. Everyone has been asking what I have been doing with myself. I found a creative, way to express myself, my emotions and the symbols that represent my experiences. My art work allows me to reflect, providing a therapeutic outlet and allows me to remain indoors 🙂 I hope you enjoy owning this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it. Your friend, George Zimmerman.”
The sold painting is the latest happening to Zimmerman since being acquitted of the murder of Trayvon Martin. Prior to the selling, media sources revealed last month that Zimmerman is $2.5 million in debt. News of Zimmerman’s financial dilemma arrived shortly after he was arrested on charges of domestic assault against his girlfriend.
As for the painting, Zimmerman’s brother, Robert Zimmerman Jr., already confirmed its validity to My News 13. Nevertheless Gawker noted the artwork has yet to be authenticated by eBay.
