Leela James and Chrisette Michele*Anybody hoping to see Leela James and Chrisette Michelle bring new drama to the upcoming season of “R&B Divas: LA” will be disappointed.

The newest additions to the hit reality show stood united in confirming that they will not be the source of any craziness when they talked to Roland Martin on “NewsOneNow.”

“[My mother] raised me in a manner where she said, ‘You act like you got sense, “ James said.

“My mother would probably be the first person to pop me upside the head in front of the camera,” added Michele, who admitted that she has been warned by family members and friends to not act out of character on the show.

James’ and Michele’s declarations seem to signal a new direction for “R&B Divas: LA,” which experienced major tension among some of the singers featured on the show. The singers are set to join returning cast members Chante Moore, Lil’ Mo, Michel’le and Claudette Ortiz.

According to TV One SVP of Programming and Production D’Angela Proctor, a new classy start is what viewers can expect from the upcoming season.

“The debut season of ‘R&B Divas: LA’ set the tone as a series all about glamour and high stakes drama,” Proctor said in a press release. “We anticipate that the addition of two lovely and respected solo artists, Chrisette and Leela, will build upon the impassioned, ever-evolving group dynamic that season 1 viewers embraced.”

James’ and Michele’s arrival comes at a price for those hoping to see a return to “R&B Divas: LA” from Kelly Price. The vocalist’s departure, along with Dawn Robinson, were officially confirmed when TV One announced that Michele and James would be joining the show.

“They made a decision that I was a problem for them,” Price told Sister 2 Sister after season 1 aired. “They solved the problem.”
