*Chadwick Boseman has secured a role in Alex Proyas’ period epic “Gods Of Egypt,” reports Deadline.com. Summit Entertainment will put the film in theaters on February 12, 2016.

The action-adventure flick is based on Egyptian mythology. Boseman, who played Jackie Robinson in “42,” joins Gerard Butler, Geoffrey Rush, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, and Courtney Eaton in the pic and will play Thoth, the god of wisdom.

Boseman wraps production this week on Universal’s “Get On Up,” the Tate Taylor-directed movie in which he stars as the Godfather of Soul James Brown. That will be released August 1.

Before that, Boseman will appear in Summit’s “Draft Day,” which dropped its Super Bowl ad Thursday ahead of its April 11 bow. Watch below.
