*Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor will make his feature film directorial debut adapting William Kamkwamba‘s book, “The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind.”
Ejiofor previously directed a short film called “Slapper” in 2008.
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind was published in 2009. It entailed Kamkwamba’s journey as a 14 year old who build his family an electricity-generating windmill from spare parts, working from rough plans he found in a library book.
Chiwetel Ejiofor has crafted a scripted fictional adaptation of Kamkwamba’s book.
There is no word on how far along he is in the production, or when the release date will be. We will keep you posted with any updates.
