*Anaheim – The 2nd Annual She Rocks Awards was held on Friday, January 24, 2014. This fantastic event was held at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom E, during NAMM 2014.
I was once again fortunate to attend this event. I arrive at the location to find a capacity crowd in attendance with the overflow crowd standing at the side and back of the room. The event consisted of people from the music industry, sponsors, and media and family members of the awards recipients.
Unfortunately, I missed the opening set by The Command Sisters. Laura B. Whitmore, Founder, The Women’s International Music Network welcomed all in attendance.
“We are thrilled that you could join us to celebrate the achievements of these fabulous women. Now in its second year, The She Rocks Awards honors women from all walks of the industry who have made significant contributions, blazed a path, or have injected a special energy that inspires.” She continued “As musicians, businesswomen, educators and more, the individuals being honored today have show the courage to pave the way.”
Simply put, They Rock!
A portion of the She Rocks Awards benefits Girls Rock Camp Alliance- aiding the organization in empowering girls and women in Girls Rock programs throughout the world. Visit www.girlsrockcampalliance.org to learn more about the organization.
The 2nd Annual She Rocks Awards took it up a notch with the 2014 Honorees and the entertainment, as well as a Silent Auction.
Without further ado, the envelopes please. The 2014 She Rocks Award Recipients:

Each award recipient thanked family and others who assisted on their journey to success. They encourage attendees to enrich the life of a young child with music education or the arts or what ever career paths that they pursue.
Guest was treated to a set of music by several awards recipients to drive home the point-She Rocks! Gaby Moreno’s versatile and soulful voice could be heard on the following four tunes “Little Sorrow,” “Mess A Good Thing,” “Que Voy A Hacer? and “Greenhorne Man.”
It bears repeating, I thought that is was an appropriate way to conclude The 2014 She Rocks Award Ceremony with a rocking set of tunes by Malina Moye. Ms. Moye gave the crowd and extra jolt of energy on “Hustler Blues,” “K-yotic,” and “Foxy Lady,” a shout out to Janie L. Hendrix.
The Awards Recipients gathered in front of the stage for a group photo. Please visit www.wimn.com to stay up to date with news, events, and interviews with women from all walks of the industry.
