*After first defending his actions, Rep. Michael Grimm, R-New York, has reportedly apologized to a NY1 News reporter for physically threatening him during an interview Tuesday night.
“@repmichaelgrimm called to apologize. He said he ‘overreacted.’ I accepted his apology,” the reporter, Michael Scotto, tweeted.
During an interview at the U.S. Capitol following President Obama’s State of the Union address, Grimm stormed off when Scotto tried to ask him questions about campaign finance allegations against the lawmaker.
After Scutto said on camera Grimm had refused to talk to him, Grimm surged toward the reporter and said: “Let me be clear to you: If you ever do that to me again, I’ll throw you off this f***ing balcony.”
