*Regina Hall had an acting coach in New York who cracked the whip when it came to getting scenes just right…and to this day, the Washington DC native says she can still hear the woman’s voice.
It was audible, Hall recalls, on the set of her Valentine’s Day release “About Last Night,” where her character Joan is in a relationship of sorts with a playboy portrayed by Kevin Hart.
While Hall has a master’s degree in journalism from NYU, she likely has a doctorate in Kevin Hart, as the two have made seven movies together, including both “Think Like a Man” films, “Death at a Funeral” and “Scary Movie 3” and “4.”
“Although I’ve starred in films with him, this is the first time we’ve really gotten to play opposite and play off of each other,” Hall, 43, told us during interviews for the film. “It’s wonderful to see someone have their star rise and yet stay exactly the same. He’s still the same kind, sweet guy that he was.”
Hall has been acting since her breakout role as Candy in 1999’s “The Best Man,” but the Hollywood workhorse admits she still gets “extremely” nervous before starting a film project.
“About Last Night,” also starring Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant, opens on Friday, Feb. 14.
