*Fantasia is trying something new and expanding her range by singing with Andrea Boccelli and proving that she can rise to any occasion.
The diva dropped by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotbe not long ago to fill them in on some upcoming plans.
Her busy to-do list includes a demanding gig singing with Boccelli , a classical singer, who asked her to sing in Italian with him for a future show.
Although this is a new realm for Fantasia, she didn’t shy away from a chance at a new experience. “It was a challenge for me, but I like challenges. I like to do things that people say that I probably can’t do,” she said.
One of the things that people said she couldn’t do was win “American Idol.” Even ten years after her seemingly impossible win, it’s hard for Fantasia to believe that her “Idol” days were really so long ago. However, she cites all of the good and bad commotion that has taken place in her life since then as the reason time seems to be flying.
“It doesn’t feel that long I guess because it’s been a lot [going on].” Fantasia told Hoda and Kathie Lee, “I wouldn’t change a thing, though. It’s a part of my testimony and it made me the woman that I am today. I’m in a great place now. You couldn’t me a million dollars to take away what I feel right now. It’s peace!”
After facing a great deal of hardship over the past few years, including financial trouble, an affair, an attempted suicide and an abortion, Fantasia makes it a point to let her fans know there no setback that she can’t comeback from. She uses her own experiences to try and mentor teens on how to better and correct yourself after making bad decisions.
“We did something in Radio Shack, and I was speaking to a lot of the young people that [came] through the line. I always end up preaching to them,” Fantasia shared. “I know my story and I know how easily you can go down the wrong path of trying to fit or just trying to do things that you know you’re not supposed to do.” She added, “I always share my story just to say, ‘You know, we fall down, but we get back up.
