*“Hannibal” fans, strap in.
It’s not quite Red Wedding from “Game of Thrones,” but an intensely brutal, bloodbath of a fight scene between Laurence Fishburne’s FBI boss Jack Crawford and Mads Mikkelsen’s Dr. Hannibal Lecter kicks off Friday’s season 2 premiere, setting a definite tone for what’s to come. [Click through to watch.]
The NBC drama is rooted in the intricate dance between FBI special investigator Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and forensic psychiatrist Dr. Lecter, who is destined to become Graham’s craftiest adversary.
The first season ended with Lecter successfully framing Graham for his crimes, sending the agent to prison. Season 2’s opening fight scene is actually a flash forward, with the majority of the season leading up to this epic battle. We can assume that Jack Crawford at some point discovers Hannibal’s secret, which leads him to confront the psychopath in his own kitchen…as he’s preparing his dinner.
Below, Fishburne talks to EURweb exclusively about Jack’s mindset regarding Will Graham’s imprisonment.
“Hannibal” returns in its new time slot this Friday (Feb. 28) at 10 p.m. Here’s the season 2 trailer.
