Uh oh, bad news for LeBron James.
On Friday, via a press release, the Miami Heat announced that their superstar suffered a broken nose during the team’s victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night.
The Heat’s statement said James had been re-evaluated in Miami, and his status for Sunday afternoon’s game with the Chicago Bulls would be a game-time decision.
James was hurt late in Miami’s blow-out win against the Thunder. He left the game with 5:50 remaining in the fourth quarter after being hit in the face by defender Serge Ibaka’s hand on a driving basket. The Heat star suffered a bloody nose and, as you can see in the photo above, he held a towel to his face while being escorted to the locker room. He did not return.
In that game which the Heat won 103-81, James scored 33 points and hit 15 of 22 shots before the incident.
Despite the injury, King James appeared to be in good spirits after the incident. He joked on Twitter that he might have to wear a mask similar to that worn by Bane, the villain in the Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises.”
BTW, to back up his Bane mask joke, he posted the pic below:
