*Malcolm X’s daughter Ilyasah Shabazz has written and published a new children’s book about the early life of her iconic father.
Titled “Malcolm Little: The Boy Who Grew Up to Become Malcolm X, “the book, Shabazz says, is meant to help kids learn to take responsibility for themselves.
The 51-year-old author, whose civil rights activist father was assassinated in 1965, said: “I want any child to pick up this book and feel lovable, and that they’re worthy of love.
“I think adults need to take responsibility for teaching our children,” Shabazz added. “We need to stop pointing fingers and teach our children.”
The writer is one of X’s six children.
