*Megaproducer Pharrell Williams is Charlie Sheen-in’ it these days.
In other words, he’s “winning.”
Robin Thicke’s provocative summer hit, “Blurred Lines,” and Daft Punk’s freewheeling anthem “Get Lucky,” each produced by Williams at roughly the same time, dominated radio play, casting a looming, ubiquitous presence over the music world for several weeks on end. He also helped score the blockbuster kid’s film, “Despicable Me 2.”
As if his cap isn’t already boggled with feathers, the Grammy-award winning, multi-platinum selling, collaboration king, has confirmed that he and legendary film composer Hans Zimmer will join forces to deliver sound for the upcoming comic-book film, “The Amazing Spider-man 2.”
Zimmer is best known for his bombastic scores for Christopher Nolan films like Inception and the Dark Knight trilogy. He also recently penned the haunting score for Oscar frontrunner 12 Years a Slave.
Zimmer and Pharrell will now be working side-by-side on the soundtrack to the highly anticipated Marvel epic, which stars Andrew Garfield in the title role and Jamie Foxx as his adversary.
“Hans Zimmer is like the king of all kings. I carry his books, sharpen his pencils, get his coffee, and I listen to every punctuation that comes out of his mouth. He is a genius,” tweeted Pharrell about their collaboration.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters in the summer of 2014.
