*Robin Thicke is set to participate in opening weekend festivities for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
On April 5, in the second game of a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants, the crooner will perform a three-song pre-game concert at Dodger Stadium, as well as throw out the first pitch before the 1.10 p.m. PST game begins, it was announced on Thursday.
A Los Angeles native, Thicke is a longtime fan and has prompted cheers from the crowds when he was been flashed on the jumbotron during past matchups. On the flip-side, “Blurred Lines” is a favorite among the players and has become a regular theme tune in the team’s clubhouse.
“Born and raised in Los Angeles, I have been a Dodger fan my whole life,” Thicke said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, adding that he is “very excited to help bring in what we all hope will be a championship season.”
The pre-game concert will be open to fans who have a ticket to the game. The home opener will be the day before, on April 4, also at 1.10 p.m.
Thicke embarks on his own North American tour on February 21 in Atlanta, Ga., at the Fox Theatre.
