Players will compete for $200,000 in cash and prizes and a chance to make history
*Los Angeles, CA – The Winter Olympics may have come to an end, and the summer Olympics may be a season away, but the patriotic need to win has not yet ceased.
Domino enthusiasts from all around the country will participate in DominoFest 2014 for a chance to win a share of $200,000 in cash and prizes, while attempting to set a new Guinness World Record™ for “Most People Playing in a Domino Tournament.”
DominoFest 2014 will be held on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th, beginning at 9:00am, inside the Los Angeles Convention Center.
DominoFest 2014 will attempt to bring the Guinness World Record for “Most People Playing Dominoes Simultaneously” to the United States. The current record is 3,344 and was set at an event organized in Dominican Republic.
The two day domino extravaganza is open to any person age 21 or older, and will consist of a celebrity domino tournament and singles tournament on May 3rd, a doubles team tournament on May 4th, and a mini-sweepstakes tournament on each day. The buy in amount is $50 for singles who have an opportunity to win $25,000 in cash, and a $100 buy-in for teams who have a chance at a stake in $35,000. The two mini sweepstakes hold a purse of $15,000 each and requires a buy-in of $100.
In addition to exciting domino-playing, guests will enjoy, live entertainment, silent auction and delicious foods provided by Los Angeles’ most prominent chefs, restaurants and caters. What’s more, each entrant will receive a free gift bag worth more than $250.
