*Remember more than a month ago when entertainment reporter Sam Rubin called Samuel L. Jackson by the name of actor Laurence Fishburne and Jackson rightfully gave that entertainment reporter the hardest time ever?
Well, he’s reminding that news anchor and folks like him who he IS NOT with a shirt that hilariously reads, “I’m not Laurence Fishburne.”
A quick recap: The actor went on KTLA to promote his movie, “Robocop” in February and it went downhill from there with one of the most awkwardly hilarious exchanges ever on TV (and later online)!
As we reported, Rubin asked Jackson the wrong question, “Did you get a lot of reaction for that Super Bowl commercial?”
“What Super Bowl commercial?” he said. “See, you’re as crazy as the people on Twitter, I’m not Laurence Fishburne!” he said.
Rubin quickly apologized for the mistake. “My mistake, my mistake, I apologize.”
But it was too late, he had already dug himself a hole — calling the biggest box office star of all time out of his name.
“Oh hell, no! Really, really?” Jackson ranted while smiled. “We don’t all look alike!” he exclaimed.
And since Jackson refused to let the reporter get off the hook, he continued with:
”We don’t all look alike!” he told Rubin. “I’m the other guy! …There’s more than one black guy doing commercials! I’m the ‘what’s in your wallet’ black guy! And Morgan Freeman is the other credit card black guy.”
Rubin went on to apologize again in a later segment.
“I do know who Samuel Jackson is,” he said. “Of course a “Captain America” ad had also run during the Super Bowl but I immediately felt so dumb that I didn’t bring that up and he gave me the shellacking that was well-deserved.”
But with his new T-shirt, Jackson is definitely making the situation light.
Let’s just take it as Jackson being offended yet having fun putting the reporter in his place and is now mocking him.
And it’s safe to say the world won’t ever get this movie star’s name wrong again!
