*You can’t get away from Terry Crews these days if you tried…and that’s exactly how he wants it.
The actor is dancing with Muppets in a Toyota ad, he hit the big screen this month in Tyler Perry’s “The Single Mom’s Club” and his freshman comedy series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” just wrapped its Golden Globe-winning first season Tuesday with a 4% bump in viewership from last week, according to Nielsen.
In the quirky cop show, Crews plays a bodybuilding-obsessed, high strung squad leader in a Brooklyn detective precinct where a bunch of eccentric cops are balanced out by their cold, robotic captain, played exquisitely by Andre Braugher.
“You’re talking a Julliard-trained, Emmy award-winning actor who’s willing to do comedy like this,” Crews said of Braugher during recent interviews for the show. “And wait, not only is he willing to do it, he’s killing it every time he comes out.”
“Nine-Nine” will return for a second season next fall. But, in the meantime, Crews can be seen, well, everywhere – from Old Spice commercials, to the April 11 release of “Draft Day” opposite Kevin Costner, to “The Expendables 3,” opening August 15.
Below, Crews says technology has made it possible for him to simply take over a person’s smart phone or tablet with his numerous projects.
