*Poor Chance the Rapper still isn’t feeling all that well.
Chance’s flu and tonsillitis is so severe he had to cancel some more shows.
He performed the first weekend of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with Justin Bieber, but cancelled the second appearance last weekend after falling ill following a performance in Las Vegas.
“Upon rising on Sunday [April 20] morning, Chance was running a 104 degree fever and could not speak due to the inflammation of his throat,” a statement read.
“He was rushed to Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital where he was put on an IV drip and medicines were introduced to help control his body temperature and pain caused by his illness,” the statement continued.
Chance thanked his fans for all the support on April 20.
“Thank you for the prayers and support during this time, Chance, his team and family deeply appreciate it,” he tweeted.
Chance promised to perform his show on April 23 — once again, thanking fans for their support, but ultimately he couldn’t perform.
“Feeling better thanks for the prayers. Ima be back 100 for Wednesday’s show I promise. Resting at home for now. God bless u guys,” he tweeted on April 21.
But the good news is he was released from the hospital.
“Chance has since returned to his home in Los Angeles and is recovering. His doctors have come to the conclusion that this illness was caused by a combination of the flu virus and tonsillitis.”
The bad news is he might need surgery.
“Chance is due to see a specialist this week to determine whether or not surgery is required.”
