Cedric the Entertainer and Marlon Wayans in “A Haunted House 2”

*The horror-spoofing film “A Haunted House” grossed $40 million in the U.S. last year…so “A Haunted House 2” was a no-brainer. It hits theaters on April 18 with a newly released NSFW trailer setting the tone. [Scroll down to watch.]

Marlon Wayans is back for the sequel as Malcolm, this time moving into his dream house with new girlfriend Megan (Jaime Pressly), a single white mother of two. They met after his possessed ex-girlfriend Kisha (Essence Atkins) dies in a car crash. Once Malcolm, Megan and her kids move into the home, things get paranormally out of control quickly – and that’s before Kisha comes back from the dead and moves in across the street.

Wayans, who also returns as the film’s writer-producer alongside Rick Alverez, says he loves spoof formats like this and the “Scary Movie” franchise, mostly because he gets to pen over-the-top story lines and push boundaries of taste with offensive material…that is, until viewers gets too uncomfortable.

Jokes that were met with groans instead of laughter in early test screenings were taken out of the movie, admits Wayans, including a run of lines delivered by Cedric the Entertainer as the returning Father Doug Williams.
