Lupita_Nyong'o-Scarlett_Johansson *Looks like Idris Elba will be in good company regarding the live-action/CG hybrid adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book.”

Media sources report that Lupita Nyong’o and Scarlett Johansson are in the middle of negotiations to join the Disney film’s cast.

Nyong’o is in final negotiations to play Rakcha, a mother wolf who adopts Mowgli. Johansson is in earlier stages of talks to provide the voice for the character of Kaa, the python who eats other animals by hypnotizing them.

At this time, the part of Mowgli has yet to be cast. Kaa is the movie’s second villain after Shere Khan, a man-eating tiger being voiced by Elba. Jon Favreau is set to direct the film as well as serve as a producer on the project with Brigham Taylor.

The Disney version of “The Jungle Book,” which arrives in theaters October 29, 2015, is one of two big screen adaptations of the famed book. According to reports, Warner Bros. is developing its own version of the property, with Andy Serkis on board to direct.
