Tickets for each artist’s performance are sold separately. Each ticket for Steve Wonder’s Auditorium Stravinsky performance sells for 450 Swiss Francs, equating to about $507. A ticket for Outkast’s Auditorium performance is going for 350 Swiss Francs, or $394. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, April 4.
Claude “Funky” Nobs, the festival’s late founder, had long been trying to book Stevie Wonder for Montreux and this year’s lineup finally realizes that dream. Nobs died following a ski accident in Jan. of last year.
“We tried to get Stevie many times,” festival director Mathieu Jaton told Reuters. “This time we made a collective offer through the International Jazz Festival Organization, along with Istanbul and North Sea in Denmark.”
Last year, Montreaux Jazz Fest featured headliners like Prince, Leonard Cohen, Green Day, Bonnie Raitt and Kraftwerk.
