*Djimon Hounsou has plenty of films hitting theaters this year including “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Seventh Son.”
But first up is the animated “How to Train a Dragon 2,” which is a film he did for his 5-year-old son, Kenzo Lee.
Speaking of whom, he’s raising his son with Kimora Lee Simmons, regardless of theit no longer being a couple.
Hounsou dished to HipHollywood about co-parenting with his ex.
“You come to realize that there is nothing wrong with the idea of co-parenting. It’s just much more love that you pour into your kid I think and just acknowledge that and understand that,” Hounsou said.
The ex-couple started dating in 2007. And in 2009 Simmons gave birth to their only child, Kenzo, together.
They never married in the US, but they had a traditional commitment ceremony in Hounsou’s native country, Benin.
But they split in November 2012 after five years together.
But it’s good thing, the two still have a good relationship for the sake of their son.
And it’s safe to say Hounsou took his son to see “How to Train a Dragon” on opening weekend.
