'How To Train YoHow To Train Your Dragon 2 ur Dragon 2'

*”How To Train Your Dragon 2‘”is flying into theaters today.

The most highly anticipated 3D animated sequel stars the voice of Djimon Hounsou as Drago Bludvist, a dragon hunter.

EURweb sat down with Academy Award nominated Hounsou and Kit Harington to talk about the animated action family fantasy film.

EUR: Your son just celebrated his 5th birthday. What did he think about hearing his dad playing the villain?

Hounsou: He enjoyed it! But I had to warn him first. I said, ‘you know how we play at home when you’re the superhero and I’m the bad guy…I’m playing the bad guy here.’ He was like, ‘oh, okay!’

EUR: How strenuous was the voice work for your characters?

Hounsou: It was quite exhausting. I thought it would be easy to just ‘talk’ but I was screaming and drenched in sweat. It became really physical.  We are moving, flying on dragons and giving each other orders, there was quite a bit of projection involved.

Harington: You feel exhausted when you come out of sessions. Its only 2 hours long but you are straining so much and moving so much, and putting so much bodily effort into it…it can be quite tiring.

EUR: How did you create the voice for your character?

Hounsou: I went into the studio screaming and trying all kinds of things. I looked a bit strange but that is the freedom of expression. It’s just you and the microphone. The director is there guiding you and we discover the story as it is evolving.

Kit Harington

EUR: Since you don’t meet the whole cast until the premiere or during press interviews. Who were you excited to meet?

Harington: Jay (Baruchel). I had never met him before and having watched the first one and seeing what an incredible job he did. He’s got such a distinct voice. He called me ‘bud’ like he does in the movie and that was amazing for me.
