Beginning this fall, fans can shop for some of the “Scandal” fixer’s signature outfits at The Limited, thanks to an unprecedented deal teaming the retailer with show star Kerry Washington and the program’s costume designer Lyn Paolo.
The 42-piece Limited Scandal collection – featuring Olivia’s signature outerwear, chic blouses and wide-leg trousers – will cost from $49 to $248. The line will be available in 250 mall-based Limited stores and on the retailer’s website beginning in late September.
The landmark deal marks the first time a national retailer, a leading network show and its flagship actress have launched a clothing collection.
“People who love the look of the show can now step into this world in a way that is affordable and accessible because not everybody can afford to have the clothes they see on the show,” Washington told WWD. ”It’s been really fun to have a voice at every stage of the production from picking buttons, choosing fabrics and weighing in on hair and makeup people.”
Diane Ellis, The Limited’s chief executive officer, said: “[Olivia Pope] represents a confident, powerful, but real and kind of vulnerable woman. Our sophisticated professional can really relate to that.
