Octavia Spencer landed in Hollywood with a bang, and never looked back.
Since we first met her in “The Help,” for which she won an Academy Award, the 43-year-old A-list actor has performed in the highly acclaimed film “Fruitvale Station,” which grabbed three nominations for the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards and is surrounded by Oscar buzz.
Spencer will also star in the upcoming James Brown bio “Get On Up” in August for Lionsgate as well as Fox’s “Red Band” this Fall.
This busy woman’s career is on fire! Yet there is one role this Hollywood actress has decided not to take: The role of Mother. The star talked about sacrifices and her decision to not have children in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“I should be married and have 19 kids,” the star said Thursday during a roundtable discussion. “And now I’m thinking my eggs are dying on the shelf. They’re going to go past their expiration date. But it’s what I chose, so I’m fine with that decision.”
The roundtable featured Oprah Winfrey and Lupita Nyong’o, who both opened up about their respective journeys to Hollywood, lessons and advice that they’ve picked up along the way.
Julia Roberts, Emma Thompson and Amy Adams also joined them in the discussion.
