*NBA guard Lance Stephenson recently announced his departure from the Indiana Pacers.
He’s now moving on to the Charlotte Hornets with a three-year contract of $27 million.
Stephenson turned down a deal with the Pacers of $44 million, but it would’ve been five more years spent on the team.
“Indy, I had a great 4 years,” Stephenson tweeted. “Thank you Larry Bird, the fans, my coaches and teammates for the incredible experience. I will never forget any of you! I now have to look to the next phase of my career and the wonderful opportunity to continue to grow as a player and as a person in Charlotte! I’m excited to play for this franchise and the fans!! #buzzcity”
Team owner Herb Simon thought $44 million was enough to keep the guard on the team, but not at all.
With 13.8 points, 4.6 assists and 7.2 rebounds in the 2013-2014 season, his skills are on the rise. But his attitude on and off the court has been a problem.
Nevertheless, Michael Jordan believes he has much potential. Regardless of his attitude, Jordan sees Stephenson as a great addition to the Hornets.
