*Soon after news broke Wednesday that Shemar Moore was returning to “The Young and the Restless” for a two-day guest appearance, his former co-star Victoria Rowell used it as an opportunity to point out the lack of diversity among the show’s executive producers.

While giving props to Shemar and acknowledging that the casting will no doubt boost ratings, Rowell – whose character Drucilla Barber Winters was the sister-in-law of Moore’s character Malcolm Winters – tweeted repeatedly about the lack of African American executive producers in the soap industry – including “zero,” she said, on “Y&R.”

Rowell left “Y&R” in April 2007 after expressing disappointment in backstage politics and citing a lack of diversity on the production and writing staff.
